Is there a hair styling product for men that won't leave my hair either crunchy or slimy AND make it look dry?

I've tried Axe pomade and misc. gels but they've all sucked. Just wanted to do something with my uber-boring, gooberish hair without it looking or feeling like I just went through a car wash.Is there a hair styling product for men that won't leave my hair either crunchy or slimy AND make it look dry?
What type of hair do you have? What would you want it to look like?
