I've seen it mentioned a couple of times but not saying why. is it because it all gets matted up? because it makes more/stronger hair growth or for some other reason? Why shouldn't oil be used for massage on a man with excessive body hair?
Actually oil should be used!!!
Oil is used on excessively hairy individuals because it allow for a better glide over the body, and keeps the clients from feeling the discomfort of what can only be described as ';someone pulling-out their body hair' : which is what it feels like when there is little to no oil used during the massage. Why shouldn't oil be used for massage on a man with excessive body hair?
Hi, not sure where you are getting your info from, but when giving a body massage, oil must ALWAYS be used.
Using Massage oil decreases the friction of a therapist's hands rubbing the skin. Friction is even greater in hairy areas. Therefore, oil it makes the massage strokes so much easier to manipulate. A hairier body might need more oil to keep from pulling the hair and creating discomfort, but any half decent therapist knows that you must never skip using oil of some form just because the client is a bit more hairy than normal.
Massage oil, used to enable the massage of muscles without exposing the skin to a lot of friction, it s soothing, and because of its gentle nature, has a sensual way of relieving muscles even when they feel so tired.
There are various types of massage oils available and it is your responsibility to find the best massage oil for your individual clients needs.
I generally stick to unscented oils.
Base oils are vegetable oils that are neutral -- scentless and non-reactive in general. The 'seed' oils are the most popular: apricot kernel oil, grapeseed oil and so on.
Please, please do not pay any attention to these people who say not to use oil, as they are a very unprofessional and misinformed group of people.

I found it had a lot of useful information on all types of massage techniques.
Hope this helps!
Oil should be used.
What should NOT be used are creams, lotions, and other lubricants that are thicker and don't have the glide that oil has, because they tend to leave the client's hair a matted, knotted mess. If you use a cream regularly on your non-hairy clients, always keep an oil handy for the particularly hairy ones.
I don't know where you get your info from, but it's wrong.
I am a very hairy guy and when I get a massage the masseuse always uses oil. There is no matting and oil neither inhibits or promotes hair growth. About the only ';concern'; is, she has to use more oil on me as my hair tends to absorb some of it.
