Should women over 40 wear hair styles for their age group?

I think it depends to a point, on if you look your age, look younger than your age, or if you look older than your age. I've seen some 40 yr. olds that look 50 because of all the sun damage to their skin and they are smokers. I'm going to be 42 this year and people usually think I look 35-36. If you look younger you can get away with styles that are a little trendy. The most important thing is you want a style that will compliment your face shape and features. If you got a style that looks great on you, it doesn't matter what your age is. Trendy or classic....as long as it ';fits'; you, it shouldn't matter what age group you fall into.Should women over 40 wear hair styles for their age group?
if i was a woman over 40, I'd wear my hair however the hell I wanted to do so... by that age, they've earned the right to be a beech.Should women over 40 wear hair styles for their age group?
i agree with idahoreptile! it's what you feel like and like. i also have long and curly hair(unless i choose to dry it straight) and i will be 38 next month. i also know what she means about people our age looking so old because i could pass for my 20's too. co you do what makes you feel good but i would try to pick a style to flatter me.
I don't know guys, I am 48, and I have a friend who is a year younger than me and she is desperately trying to look 10 years younger and is is only succeeding in making herself pitiful!

A 47 year old woman should not wear her hair down to her waist and bleach it blonde! It is just is not something you want to do if you want people to take you seriously!

I am trying to get a classic line to my style that never goes out of style, if you grasp my meaning!

Cover up the upper arms and shoulders, lengthen the skirts and find a hair style that is right for your shape of face that kind of hides your neck a little! I want my kids to like to be seen with me, not feel like I am competing with them.

I just know how her kids feel about what she is looking like these days and well, they don't want to go anywhere with her! I don't want that! I want to look classy, instead of brassy and desperate.
There is no difference in women over 40 than women under 30 as far as hair styles go. Maybe women over age 80 need an appropriate hair style, but that's about it.
it is amazing how many people are deluded about not looking their age! Of course people are going to tell you that.

There are styles that do not suit a woman in her 40's and make you look desperate. Look at Nicole Sheridan - she looks haggarded with all of that hair and her old face. On the other hand I work with a women who is 47 and looks 55 - she has a 1980's poodle perm and it ages her. I think any classic stlye is best.
around here, all the women that age have mullets. is that normal...lol!!
I'm 38 and thats close enough. I cant believe how many women my age look...well...old. I take care of myself and look like I'm in my 20's. Right now I have my hair really long and curly, sort of like Sarah Jessica Parker. Some people would probably say I should cut it and look like some boring soccer mommy (no offense) but Nah! I just say do what you like and to heck with everyone else!
what age group. Be your own person wear your hair however you want.
I think you should look at Madonna , she's almost 50 and does her hair very well. Exactly what type of hair should a 40 old wear, or even 20 year old it's not written that their is a law abiding trend. Whatever makes you happy.
WHATEVER BEST SUITES YOU
Never go with a trend. Stick with what looks best on you.
i would wear my hair the way i wanted to.nobody tells me what to do.
i think all women need to look nice and stylish if they like and feel better...so if you are over 40 and need to do something crazy with your hair do it...my mom does it and she is neat.....all women are beautiful depends on the inside.....because the outside lucky us can be arranged.
