Is it acceptable for Professional Women to have long hair?

By professional women, I mean top professions e.g. scientists, engineers, doctors, dentists, accountants, lawyers, draughswomen, senior management etc. By long hair, I talking about near waist length or longer.

There are no doubt millions of Professional Women. There are no doubt 1000s who have long hair. Does long hair in such senior positions give the wrong image that would prevent them from being taken seriously?

Some would say that such women should have nothing longer than shoulder length hair. I would say that it is perfectly acceptable for women to have hair as long as they like but, in her professional environment she should wear it up.Is it acceptable for Professional Women to have long hair?
yes I would think it is acceptable although I think people would expect a woman to wear her hair back as it looks more 'professional and tidy'

but I think the reason stems from professional women usually having employees and because of the sexist world we live in men are more known to be the boss so a woman wearing her hair down would be seen as very feminine and some employees, and/or colleagues may have a problem with that as if to think a feminine women is in control and may be seen as 'looking vulnerable' and a weak leader not being able to do her job correctly compared to being a man or a woman that ties her hair back and doesn't show off her sexuality (which long hair worn down does) giving a more sexless authoritative lookIs it acceptable for Professional Women to have long hair?
Acceptable? Yes. Frowned upon? Probably. Obviously medical and science professionals know to keep their hair pulled back for reasons of safety and necessity, but other professionals (in business, law, etc) do not always do this. And yes, it can look unprofessional. Women in high positions need to convey a put-together image, and with a giant head of hair this image gets compromised. Of course plenty of women have long, well-tamed hair and pull off the pulled together look, but it's rare and not easy. Most professional women like to keep their hairstyles short or at least easily managed.
Okay, scientists, engineers, doctors and dentists should definitely put their hair up at work because they need it out of their eyes, however, accountants, lawyers and senior management shouldn't have to worry about that. If they are professional looking in their attire and their hair is clean and styled then I see no problem in leaving it down. My Mother makes a six-figure salary in a senior management position and her hair is past her hips and she wears it as she likes because she's worked hard enough to do so.
yes i would say it is ok. if they need to (for professional reasons maybe) they can pull their hair back into a ponytail or put it in a bun. i have seen many doctors, etc. who have waist length hair.

also, they wouldn't want to style their long hair in a way that would distract from their job.
yeh its totally acceptable I dunno who said it isnt but it dusnt matter the length of your hair for goodness sake! Just tie it up
In my opinion, as long as it is styled (pulled back if needed) and not in the way of the profession, why not...
