Is it ok to have long hair for men and short hair for women in Islam?

It is not allowed for a Muslim to dress and look like the opposite gender. That humiliates the creation of Allah S.W.T.





Although there is a Hadeeth (a sahih one) from Sahih Muslim mentioning that the Prophet (pbuh)'s hair was up to his shoulder and no longer than that.

Where is ';in Islam';? You make it sound like a bit of geography. Most of the answers you get will be dependant on the ethnic cultures the respondents come from. They, like you, confuse ethnic and cultural assumptions with their religion.

A man can have hair till his shoulders and women shall avoid boy cuts. Men shall not resemble Women and Women shall not resemble men. :) ~!
Men can have hair til his shoulders and women cannot cut it like a boy. man must not resemble Women, women must not resemble men.

Islamic cultures see it as important to make clear differences between sexes. Women, for example, are encouraged to have long hair, while men are encouraged to have short hair.
It is right that man should not look like woman and vice verse. Man should show short hairs, but if he have long hairs instead he should have beard or at least some stubbles.





Woman should have long hair, but otherways if husband wants it short. Apart from him it would be no one's business if on her the hijab is fixed proper on the top. Peace.

Prophet Muhammad said that to the guy who was under disguise as an eunuch to enter his house and live closely amongst his wives. They were cheated into thinking that he is gay , and gays were welcomed and treated well by Prophet Muhammad , so when he found out that this guy was pretending , he said that.





There's nothing wrong with having short do as a girl , i think it's hot . The androgyny look is really creative love it.
long hair to a certain length is sunna for men, but all strands of hair should have the same length and the intention of keeping it as sunnat of rasullah (p.b.u.h).
