What is it with man wanting long hair on his woman? ';For Christians mainly';?

Now, I have slowly come to grips and have accepted the submission verse in the bible now that I understand it more. And I respect other Godly women who do this too. However, why do some Christian men practically lay down the law that they forbid the wife to cut her hair? I was just on facebook. I know this couple in ministry. The wife posted she needed a new hairstyle, but her hubby, as she put it, wasn't going for it. If men are instructed to love their wives as Christ loved the church, then why wouldn't they want their wives to be comfortable and to do what makes them happy. So many men choose to keep their hair short or shaved and do what they want to do with themselves, why can't the wife do the same?What is it with man wanting long hair on his woman? Most guys I know are far more attracted to girls with long hair just like most girls I know are far more attracted to guys that are clean cut.





I know a lot of women that would lay down the law on their guys if they started growing out their hair or stopped shaving.





It has nothing to do with religion, for the most part. It tends to have to do with what we as a society view as beautiful and attractive.





My sisters husband told her she better not cut her hair, in a joking way of course, cuz he doesnt want to be married to a boy.

from a guys perspective: short hair can be either really cute, or really not, some girls it makes them look like a boy





long hair=sexy, extremely attractive, if you want guys to be in ';awe'; over you, you better have it long

That wife shouldn't be talking about her marriage behind her husbands back. She will burn I'm sure. As for short hair, if a Christian man wanted his wife to have short hair, then he might as well support gays since it would be like screwing a man from behind.
Under cover Gay men do that to try and hide their closet homosexuality and make themselves look ';masculine'; and macho by bossing around his mate.
These Christian man who force their wives to do these things are Cultists...

Not many Christians believe that. God gave us freedom to do whatever we want (on our own consequences tho) and women should not be kept from choosing a hairstyle

Speaking personally I am more attracted to ladies with long hair. And, yes I know how much work it is for them, which is one of the reasons I find it more attractive. As far as Scripture goes long hair is a symbol of glory given by God. Long hair on a man in Scripture was generally because they had taken a vow to keep it long, for God. I grew my hair long once but it was to much of a hassle. So, I can understand a lady not wanting long hair and she shouldn't have to if it is uncomfortable for her. But, if you lined up three beautiful ladies one with long hair and the other two short, I'll talk to the one with long hair first and foremost.
It has to do with a silly, rambling piece of s-crap-ture written 2000 years ago by a very confused Paul in I Corinthians 11:3-15. Basically it says it's shameful for a woman to cut her hair like a man's because long hair shows her submission to her husband, and somehow we know instinctively that long hair is a woman's glory.





Paul wrote this because some people in the Corinthian church were insisting that women follow custom and cover their heads when they prayed or prophesied in church. Paul says no, their long hair is good enough.





3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head鈥攊t is just as though her head were shaved. 6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head. 11 In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. 13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory?
