I`m in UK , and never saw that programme. But the PreRaphaelites, a Uk art movement of 1848 onwards, painted women with long flowing hair. Especially Edward Burne-Jones, and Rossetti, 2 members of the PreRaphaelite Brotherhood. If you look them up on the net, you will know if these are the artists that impressed you so.
